Can you lose 20 pounds in 20 days? Probably. Should you lose 20 pounds in 20 days? Heck NO!

The reason I am tackling such a subject is because a colleague of mine here at Diet.com told me a site visitor had searched for the term "lose 20 pounds in 20 days..." There may have been a mention of pseudo-celebrity Nicole Richie.
You may recall a year or so again when Richie, co-star of The Simple Life, had made tabloid headlines for her anorexic-like slimdown that took her from curvy to bony... and beyond.
Richie bounced back when she got pregnant. And all seemed well throughout her pregnancy. Then recently the new mom began to slim down quickly again.
And thus was born the cry for "Lose 20lbs. in 20 days!"
Fast weight loss puts you on the fast track for problems. Most experts will tell you that sustainable and lasting weight loss involves 1.8-2 pounds A WEEK. Not anywhere near ONE POUND A DAY.
If you're here at Diet.com looking to lose 20 pounds in 20 days, you need to look elsewhere. We care too much about your health and long-term well-being to coach you on a slimdown fast that would wreak havoc on your body.
Or a celebrity blog-watcher entry such as: "Allegedly, Nicole is planning to lose 20 pounds! Oh, and according to the rumors, she wants to lose 20 pounds fast, really fast. I do not actually believe this, but according to the sources, Nicole wants to lose 20 pounds in 20 days, and that is just insane." (That's Nicole ... at left... back in her pre-pregnancy ultra-scrawny days.)
The most ridiculous come-on I found while researching this blog: How to Lose 20 Pounds In One Day!
That one thankfully was more a tease headline that commented on Desperate Housewife Marcia Cross losing 20 pounds... by having a baby!
Folks, you didn't gain your 20 pounds in 20 days, so you shouldn't expect to lose it that fast.
If you want to boost your weight loss, try safe proven methods like fitness and workout aids. Tomorrow we launch or new Diet.com Store where you will find hundreds of great items geared toward helping you slim down, tone up and feel better!
Whatever you do, don't opt for high-priced pills or questionable weight loss tactics like fasts or detoxing. Some of those can literally be a pain in the butt!
Seriously though, if you want to lose weight and keep it off, you need to first understand how you got to where you are and what habits keep you there.
Now doesn't that sound a lot better than fast weight loss?
